Online Workshop "Sponge City - From Idea to Implementation"
January 21, 2022, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Dear members, friends and friends of the European Soil & Land Alliance,

Climate Alliance and Soil & Land Alliance are dedicating this online workshop to the topic of the sponge city for the third time now. While the first two workshops dealt with the definition of the sponge city principle and the concrete design of measures, this workshop will focus on important steps in the planning process.

What was the motivation and goal behind cities and municipalities deciding to set out on the path to becoming a sponge city? Who took the initiative and what obstacles had to be removed on the way to implementation? Which levels were involved and which planning instruments were used? We would like to get to the bottom of these questions with representatives of cities and municipalities.

The second part of the event will focus on the implementation phase: What was realized and with what success? How did the construction phase proceed and how was it accepted by citizens?

We cordially invite you to discuss and exchange ideas with us. The event is free of charge.
