FFG: Focus on Europe and International Affairs 08/2021

The one-year Austrian chairmanship of the international research network Eureka is entering its final phase: The 35th anniversary of the network was celebrated under the motto "Towards a NEW Eureka". A major focus was on the negotiations for the new edition of the "Eurostars" programme co-financed by the EU as well as on the reorganisation and structuring of the Eureka Cluster Programme in order to make the cooperation between member states and industry more effective. The expansion of global cooperation is also on the agenda of the Austrian Presidency, which ends in June: In particular, improved cooperation with the Western Balkan states, but also with Africa, has been advanced. Singapore will become the youngest member of the Eureka family in the coming weeks.

The "Global Innovation Summit" (18-20 May 2021) will be the final highlight: an international meeting place for companies, innovation agencies, research organisations and political decision-makers with the focus on "Green Transition", "Digital Transformation" and "Post COVID". Due to the pandemic, the event will be moved to virtual space - participation in the "Global Innovation Summit" is free of charge!
