Soil & Land Alliance International – Activities at Temesvar, Vukovar and Budapest

On October 6, at Temesvar in Romania a workshop on the topic of „Painting with the Colours of the Earth" took place within the framework of an event of the Constantin Brancusi Cultural Association and the Association of Writers. Furthermore, at the international project meeting in Budapest, an expressive common piece of art painted with soil colours has come into existence.

Dr. Harald Kutzenberger of the IAD (International Association for Danube Research) as an official representative of the SONDAR (Soil Strategy Network in the Danube Region) network and his team inspired persons interested with tips and tricks around the topic of painting with soil colours.

Within the framework of further activities in respect of the important topic of soil protection, besides the Romanian municipalities (in May 2012, Nufaru entered the Soil & Land Alliance as the first municipality) also Vukovar in Croatia and Ruse in Bulgaria were interested in admission to the European Land and Soil & Land Alliance.

The Soil & Land Alliance is an association of towns and municipalities in Europe with the aim of actively standing for a sustainable treatment of soils. On the basis of a common manifesto, the members commit themselves to decisive acting on a local level, especially in the fields of soil protection and spatial planning.
