BIO Research Austria

We would like to invite you to our upcoming online events in January and February of the new year 2021:

  • Humus balancing for your own farm - part 1 on 14.01.2021
  • Site- and crop rotation-adapted greening - multiple effects on 18.01.2021
  • Nitrogen dynamics in livestock-free arable farming on 11.02.2021

Webinar: Humus balancing for your own farm - Part on 14.01.2021 - COMPLETED
Humus is storage for water and organically bound plant nutrients. In humus, carbon incorporated and fixed in the soil in a long-term and meaningful way. Humus is therefore important for soil fertility and climate protection alike. This webinar explains the advantages and disadvantages of various humus-building measures such as crop rotation, the addition of crop residues, green manures and compost and presents humus balancing as a calculation tool. Participants will learn how to extract soil data for humus balancing from eBOD (electronic soil map) and what other information they can use for their farm.
Date: Thursday, 14.01.2021 from 09:30 to 12:00 a.m.
Location: This seminar takes place online.
Target group: Farmers who are interested in humus build-up and soil protection.
Speakers: DI Lisa Doppelbauer, DI Elisabeth Neuner, Christoph Reithofer, BSc
Costs: € 20 per person subsidized, € 40 per person unsubsidized
Registration: at LFI Lower Austria until 08.01.2021; click here to register

Webinar: Site- and crop rotation-adapted revegetation - multiple effects on 18.01.2021- COMPLETED
What factors regarding plant species and machinery use support a successful intercropping?
What is the importance of location in revegetation cultivation?
What strategies can pursued during dry periods?
Current research results from practice answer questions about greening cultivation.
Clarification: If the nutrient release through greening matched to the needs of the following crop, a wide range of positive effects can achieved!
Date: Monday, 18.01.2021, from 14:00 to 17:00 p.m.
Location: This seminar will take place online.
Target group: (Organic) farmers
Speakers: Karoline Messenböck BSc, DI Lisa Doppelbauer
Costs: € 20 subsidized, € 80 unsubsidized
Registration: at LFI Lower Austria until 11.01.2021; click here to register

Webinar: Nitrogen dynamics in livestock-less cropping on 11.02.2021 - COMPLETED
Livestock-less farming requires a detailed knowledge of nitrogen availability, especially in organic farming. This hands-on seminar will discuss the basics of N dynamics and the importance of nitrogen fixation by legumes.
Date: Thursday, 11.02.2021 from 09:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Location: This seminar will take place online.
Target group: (Organic) farmers with livestock-less arable farms.
Speakers: Dr. Eva Erhart, DI Elisabeth Neuner, Mag. Marion Bonell
Costs: € 20 per person subsidized, € 40 unsubsidized
Registration: at LFI Lower Austria until 03.02.2021; click here to register

We will be very happy to answer any further questions you may have.
