Our Soil – SONDAR – information tour

The great Environmental Festival on the "Day of the Sun" at the main square in Tulln focused on a resource-saving, conscious way of life. The spectrum reached from the use of renewable energy and environment-friendly mobility to intelligent saving in daily life and a sustainable treatment of soil. Within the framework of the project "Planting, Watering & Enjoying!" of the Energy and Environment Agency Lower Austria, Town Councilor of the Environment Liane Marecsek and Municipal Councilor of the Environment Susanne Stöhr-Eissert also distributed 1,000 pepper, tomato and chili plants at the Sun Festival, in order to raise the joy of gardening among the citizens, and if only on their balconies.

The Tulln Waste Association (GVA) as a new member of the European Land and Soil Alliance provided for a soil information stand together with the SONDAR (Soil Strategy Network in the Danube Region) project team.

Beside many pieces of information about a sensible treatment of the resource of soil, especially persons interested in arts and moving found the right thing for their taste. At the painting stand "with the Colours of the Earth" a large number of pieces of art were created, and in the sustainable football cages the visitors were allowed to kick in competition on small space and with the least possible global footprint!

We give our special thanks to chairman mayor Mag. Alfred Riedl and to Manuela Unterleitner from the Tulln Waste Association for the excellent cooperation, and we are looking forward to many further common activities for our soil.
