ÖWAV Composting Course

In 2021, the Austrian Water and Waste Management Association (ÖWAV) will organise the 11th composting course.

ÖWAV composting course with final examination for composting specialists

15th to 17th June 2021 in Ansfelden.

Course content:

In the course of the three-day ÖWAV composting course, the requirements for the operation of composting plants are dealt with in detail, taking into account an increased practical relevance. In accordance with ÖWAV rule sheet 518, the legal and technical basics of composting are taught as an introduction, and then the input control, preparation, process management and metrological monitoring are comprehensively addressed and illustrated in practice.
The recording and balancing of composting plants are also illustrated with practice-oriented examples. This training is concluded with an oral examination to become a compost specialist.

Target group:

The course is aimed at operators and operating staff of composting plants, experts and representatives of authorities and technical offices (planners) working in the field of biological waste treatment.
Among others, this course is aimed at persons who are named as "responsible person" for the composting plant (as collectors and treaters of non-hazardous waste) according to §24a (1) AWG 2002 in the course of the application.

When organising ÖWAV events, the applicable legal requirements and security measures are applied.

In view of the current situation in Austria and the official guidelines the applicable legal requirements and security measures applies an entry test* which required for participation in ÖWAV events until further notice (*written certificate of a negative PCR test or SARS-CoV-2 antigen rapid test from a publicly authorised institute or specialist personnel - the date must not be older than 24 hours or from the previous day).

In addition, the wearing of an FFP2 mask must observed as well as the legal minimum distance of 2 metres for all participants and speakers. (This also applies - in the absence of specific requirements - to persons who already vaccinated).
