Varieties:

All varieties edible. Domestic snowy mespilus (A. ovalis) - frost resistant up to -28 °C.
Saskatoon (A. alnifolia) 'Sleyt', 'Pembina', 'Martin', and Juneberry (A. lamarckii) 'Prince William' - frost resistant up to -34 °C.



Growth habit and height:

Large shrubs, 4 - 16 m tall, good for pruning.



Location

Sun/semi shade, not particular - different types of soil possible.



Uses

3 - 5 cm large fruits in June and July for fresh consumption, jam, or as dried fruit.
