Indigenous to Japan, China and Tibet; easily multiplied by seeds. For fruit yield plant two varieties. Self-pollinating selection by Herlmut Pirc, Schönbrunn. Frost resistant up to -45 °C.



Growth habit and height:

Shrubs with several shoots, up to 2m tall.

Sun. Thin out and remove old fruits!



Uses

Cherries in June. For fresh consumption, jelly, juice. Leaves as vegetables or marinade for mushrooms.
